Nest protect error P006 (3.10)

JonathanM

Hello - I've gone through just about every thread on this topic. I have 3 Nest Protects at home, 2 connect to my wi-fi without any issue, the 3rd I am getting error P006 (3.10).

I have tried connecting to a wi-fi hotspot, and that works fine, but I cannot connect it back to my home network that is run through Google Mesh. I have tried everything, factory resets, modem resets, everything on all the forums. Hoping someone has a solution!

Hi JonathanM,

Thanks for reaching out here in the community! I understand you are getting error P006 (3.10) when attempting to connect one of your Nest Protects to your Google Mesh home network, even though your other two Nest Protect devices were able to connect to your network without any issue. I appreciate you taking the time to search and troubleshoot this issue. No worries, I can definitely help you with this!

Since you've already completed those important steps, let's try the following:

  • Ensure your mobile device and the Nest app are fully updated.
  • Bring the Nest Protect and your phone closer to the router and try to pair again. Make sure you’re using the correct Wi-Fi password. As a tip, please locate your Wi-Fi network in your settings, copy the password, and then paste it when the app requests it.
  • Try signing in with your account on another mobile device and then try pairing the Nest Protect again through the Nest app.
  • If those steps don't work, please try creating a new home structure in the Nest app to add the Nest Protect. For instructions, please see this article: Manage homes and products with the Nest app.

Please keep me updated.

Best regards,

Jenniffer
