Nest protect pathway triggering randomly

I have a Nest Protect where the pathway light triggers randomly all night. We had no pets, no one is in the hallway where it is located, There is nothing that could be triggering it. Anyone have this issue?

Is this something that just started and it was OK in the past?  It is possible for wind currents from your HVAC system to be sensed as motion.  Any changes here?

Yes,  recent. No issues previously. Been installed fior a few years now.

• When did the trouble first occur?

• What is your Nest Protect's exact model? To identify it, you can check out this article: Nest Protect technical specifications. 

• Do you see an LED light on your Nest Protect? If so, could you tell me what color it is? 

• Have you taken some troubleshooting steps to isolate the situation? If so, could you describe them?

Are you using the Nest app?  I assume you are since you indicated IOS.  How does your Pathlight respond to the SETTINGS available on the app? Can you turn it OFF, change ON duration, or set it always ON?  Is the Protect near End of Life?

I can and have turned it off. No idea if it is near EOL.  It does say replace by 2027.
