Nest protect

I am trying to re-activate My nest protect Gen 2 on my nest app. However the qr code and the key has been ripped up  I have the serial number but I can't activate with the serial number. Is there anyway to retrieve the key or is my Nest Protect garbage now?

Hey Schand820,

I'm sorry for the delay and trouble. If your phone can’t scan the QR code, you can manually type in the key or serial number.

1. Tap Continue without scanning at the bottom of the QR code scanning screen. Then type in your product’s entry key or serial number.
2. You can tap Find the code or Show me how, and the app will show you where the serial is located on your product.

Tip: If you have a hard time reading your Nest product’s entry key or serial number, take a picture with your phone’s camera. Then open the picture in your photo app and zoom in.

Hi, your suggestion doesn't work because you cannot register with serial code. You van only do it with the key which was also ripped. I have already spoken to someone at Google and have gotten my issues resolved.
