Sensor Failing

My Ring Protect was purchased 5 months ago.

I’m getting an error message that the smoke sensor has failed. Followed the cleaning instructions and I still get the same error message. 
I’ve gone to the Community is search for a solution. Looks like I’m not the only one having this problem. There are no solutions to follow. 
Please advise.

To clarify, which product do you have?

  1. Ring Alarm Smoke and CO Listener
  2. Nest Protect smoke and CO alarm

The first one is not a Google product.
