How do I stop an out of warranty smoke /carbon dioxide alarm chirp?

It depends what is causing the chirp. See the "When Protect needs your attention" section of this help article.
If it's due to low battery, sensor failure or because Protect has expired, you cannot silence the chirp. This is to to comply with safety regulations.
