2 Year Old Nest E Thermostats Going Offline

Hi All,

I have 2 Nest E thermostats I purchased about 2 years ago. Until a month ago they were great. For the past couple of months they have been losing their Wi-fi connections more often and now the downstairs Nest is offline constantly saying Low Battery. They still can be adjusted manually. Charging the battery manually via a USB cord fixes things temporarily. Both Nest installations have no Common wire.

The Power stats on the downstairs Nest without the AC running are:

Battery 3.749 V

Voc 36.94 V

Vin 30.03 V

lin 20 mA

I've seen the voltage dip below 3.7. The downstairs AC unit is a 20 year-old 3 1/2 ton Ruud unit. Had a capacitor replaced on it a few weeks ago and unit is running great again. Not sure if the new capacitor has anything to do with it. The upstairs unit is a 4 year-old 4 ton Trane unit. The upstairs Nest hasn't been as problematic but still jumps offline once in a while due to low battery.

Any advice is greatly appreciated. Running Common wires would be trick because of the fireblocks in my walls so I'm hoping there is another solution to this recent problem.

Thank You!
