Adding thermostats back onto my Google Home app. Wi-fi is also disconnected

I got a new wi-fi network and while trying to update the wi-fi on my google home app., I accidently removed the two thermostats from my app.  So at this point:

1.  both thermostats still say wi-fi disconnected as I haven't been able to connect to the new network (and can't figure out how to connect)

2.  I cannot add both thermostats back onto the google home app

Can someone help?  I'm not sure if I need to connect to the new wi-fi network (I can't figure out how to connect) before I can add the thermostats back onto the app or the correct order in steps go get this done.

Thanks!
