Hello there, when I lose power on my thermostat display it shows a message that there is no power however on my phone it shows that the my heating is up and running, is this normal? Can I get the same notification of no power on my phone?

 Thanks and happy new year

Hello egreiss,

Thanks for reaching out to the Google Nest Community Forum. I;d love to help.

I found a helpful article about managing and interpreting HVAC alerts with your Nest Thermostat. Please take a look at this article and let us know if you need more help.

Hi egreiss,

It's me again. I understand there may be some confusion about receiving alerts. Due to a power outage, the thermostat will be unable to send you a notification or warning if it loses connection to the Wi-Fi network. Also, depending on how long it has been without power, it may take some time to recharge before reconnecting to your Wi-Fi. The no power alert would then only be saved in history.

Feel free to let us know if you have more questions in mind.

Regards,

Mark

Thanks Mark for the clarification about the alert, I get it, however if I am monitoring the thermostat with my app, on power outage it indicates that the ac is up and running, which I believe is the latest status before the power outage, am I correct?

Best regards

Hello there,

You got it, @egreiss! When your thermostat is running your system before the power goes out, after a long or short period of inactivity, it'll resume its previous function until it reaches your target temperature. Also, here's an article that will tell you more about the notifications that you might receive. Let us know if you have more questions.

Thanks,

Mark
