Another next Thermostat stops working!

We have 3 Nest Thermostats.
So far two have stopped working. The first one after we bought it and it was RELLY difficult to get Google to agree to replace it. I mean, really poor customer service. But it was eventually resolved after some pretty stern emails and contacting citizens advice.

Now another one has stopped working. They were installed about 2 years ago. Which isn't great is it?

The thermostat and heatlink have power.

The thermostat lights up and goes orange as if the heating should be on. The Heatlink clicks when the heating is set to come on but the boiler doesn't fire. up. The Heatlink has power and lights up.

I had to boiler checked and it's not that nor the motor. The boiler guy said they often break and are unreliable and it's definitely the heatlink that isn't working but couldn't explain why as it had power. It's just not turning the boiler on.

We have the Mk2 thermostat I believe.

We have reset the heat link by pressing the button for 10 seconds.
We have reset the link between the thermostat and the heatlink.
We have tried putting the Heatlink into manual.

The two other thermostats in different zone work. There is no issue with the Wifi.

Is there anything else I could try or do I just need a new one?
Why are they so unreliable?

This has put me off buying anything from Google to be honest!
I'm not impressed!
Does anyone else have similar issues?

Hi there and thanks for reaching our community. I'm sorry to hear about your issue, but I'll do my best to assist you. Could you please tell me what color is the LED light on your Heat Link at this moment?

Hi,

It's green.

Thanks for letting me know. You've mentioned that the Heat Link clicks when the heating is turned on. Just to check this out, can you go near the Heat Link, access the Nest app on your phone and turn on the heating, listen for the first click, wait for one minute or two and then turn off the heating to see if the Heat Link clicks for a second time.

Hi there @Eel! I just wanted to check in with you. Did you see the message from my colleague?

Hi, yes it clicks on and off. Strangely, it's suddenly started working.
It's very odd, but my phone keeps saying that the app goes offline yet all my other internet devices seem to be working ok.

It's very odd!

Got it. In this case, could you please access the Settings on your thermostat and after that go to Network and let me know what you see there. Do you see any codes or is it connected to WiFi?

Yes, I've tested it and not it appears to be working. It's very strange. There is no issue at present with the network, no error codes. The app is working on too.

Fingers crossed it will stay that way.
