Can’t enter new wifi password- how do I switch back and forth from letters to numbers on the dial th

Can’t enter new wifi password on thermostat dial because I don't know how you combine letters and numbers. I press the check mark and 123 to try and add a number to a letter but it doesn’t work . It is very perplexing and can’t seem to find the answer anywhere.

It's much easier to do it using the Nest or Home app (depending on the thermostat model you have). Try these steps:
