Changed thermostats

Hi

i have replaced my broken 3rd gen nest thermostat with a new 2nd gen one

can I link this new 2nd gen thermostat to the old 3rd gen heat link from the previous set up?

thanks for all help

Hi there, thanks for reaching out! Just to make sure, is the serial number of the new thermostat starting with 02 or 09? You can find that by going to Settings > Technical info > Display. If it starts with 02, it is indeed a 2nd Gen and it can't be paired with the Heat Link from the 3rd Gen. But if it starts with 09, that means it is a 3rd Gen and you can pair it with another 3rd Gen Heat Link.

if I buy a new nest 3 gen thermostat will this link to my existing 3 gen heat link which linked to the old broken one?
