Which Nest thermostat do you want to use?

Do you have a furnace or a boiler?

The Google Nest Thermostat will need the Nest Power Connector and possibly an external 24vac transformer.

The Nest Learning Thermostat, 3rd Gen, and Nest Thermostat E should work, but I recommend the Nest Power Connector and possibly an external 24vac transformer.

 I want to use the normal nest thermostat with the  power connector, not sure about the transformer

I'm not sure which Nest thermostat you refer to by 'normal'.

If you mean the Google Nest Thermostat, you will need the Nest Power Connector. You won't need an external transformer if there is a 24vac terminal. If there isn't, then you will need the external 24vac transformer.

If you need to use an external 24vac transformer, you will want to wire it like the following.

If you don't need the external transformer, you will want to wire it like this.
