Connectin nest to Google home

My nest has recently been installed and the app seems to be working okay. I'm having issues, however trying to link my nest to Google home. Having looked online I see that I need to add the device to my home account but after I click 'works with Google', nest is not appearing in the list of services. Any help is appreciated

You do NOT use the "Works with Google" option to add your Nest Thermostat to the Google Home app. Rather, you follow these instructions:

(The Nest Learning Thermostat and the Nest Thermostat E get added to the Google Nest app.)

Hi Jenelyn it didn't work, no. It didn't connect scanning the QR code. I then got to the stage of adding the 6 digit code underneath the QR code. Then Im asked to enter the the last 4 characters of the device serial number but there is no option on my screen to enter any information.

@Lawfriendchris, it appears that you have the Nest Learning Thermostat. There's no need for you to link your thermostat in the Google Home app; just make sure that you're signed in with the correct email address associated with your thermostat. Once verified in the Nest app and in the Google Home app, check for other available structures where it might be connected. Check out this article on how to switch home systems.
