Google nest thermostat (Nest Pro Edition)

My Nest Thermostat is connected to wifi. But after attempting restarting and factory resets, I am able to control with the app once from my android phone and then the app suddenly goes offline without any way to get it back online. I spent two hours on the phone only to do several factory resets, which worked but then wifi disconnects from app.

I can adjust schedule but cannot change the current temperature from my phone. Why is the app offline on my phone even when my wifi is working in my home?

Yes, I'm always having this issue as well. It's very frustrating and makes the whole concept of the app useless. Not to mention all the steps i have to go through resetting it, to get it to connect for a few minutes, just to update any programming.

Frustrating, even google tells me to check the thermostat wifi connection when the problem is the google home app.  I am looking to see if the Nest E Thermostat which uses the Nest App instead of Google Home actually works. Otherwise I am going back to my oldschool 4 temperature thermostat not controlled by any app.

Hi folks,

I'm sorry for the late reply. I'd be happy to take a look into this for you.

It's never ideal for the devices to appear offline in the Google Home or Nest apps when they are connected to the Wi-Fi network. Let's dive in and get you online once more. I did find a helpful article with some troubleshooting steps for when your device is showing offline.

Please let me know if that helps or if the issue still persists.

Best regards,

Mark

Hi everyone,

Just one quick final check in here since activity has slowed down. We'll be locking the thread in the next 24 hours, but if you still need help, I would be happy to keep it open. If there's more we can do, just let me know.

Thanks,
Mel

The help article ideas are all options that we've tried. None of them have fixed the issue. I'm wondering if I just need to get a different thermostat.

I just returned my thermostat and put my old one back on. Cannot be bothered dealing with internet and apps that dont work.

I already looked at the article Mark posted.

It did nothing to help with the thermostat being online on the wall but showing as offline on the google Home app.

Therefore the thermostat cannot be controlled from the google Home app without me resetting the thermostat and scanning the bar code every time i want to adjust the settings.

This thermostat is useless. I returned it and put on my old thermostat. I will not be purchasing or trying any other Google thermostat after this experience.
