My Google NEST is a bit away from the Heat link. Is there a device or repeater to link?

Hey @Johnk,

Thanks for reaching out. There aren't any repeaters available at the moment. I recommend to move the thermostat closer to the Heat Link if you can.

Hi CristianC… thanks for reaching out.. I tried bringing it closer.. but no luck… my boiler is at a distance and away from my home in the garage…

Hey @Johnk,

I apologize for the delayed response. If the distance is too big, it may cause issues. There are also other things that can cause interference like thick walls, Bluetooth devices, pipes and big metal objects in between the heat Link and the thermostat. Please answer the following questions so that we can find a suitable solution:

  • How far is the Heat Link from the thermostat?
  • Do you have any error messages showing on the display?
  • What lights are there currently on the Heat Link?

Hi, I wanted to check in.

Do you need any further assistance? If so, make sure to let me know.

Can we use another Nest Thermostat as an extender?

In example, can I:

1) Place Thermostat E to the boiler room, pair it to the Heatlink, connect it to WiFi.
2) Place Thermostat 3rd gen to the room two floors upstairs and connect it to WiFi. There will be no pairing between this 3rd gen and heat link.
3) Measure the temperature and control the heating with thermostat 3rd gen and control the heating only with this thermostat (either via wifi between 2 thermostats or via cloud).

Will it work this way?

Hey @Johnk and @Launcher,

Each thermostat is designed to work and communicate with its own Heat Link via Weave. With this in mind, unfortunately there is no way you can use a 2nd thermostat or any sort of extender for this kind of connection.
