How do reset my Nest Thermostat E and start over like I just got it out of the box? There are posts on here but none that specifically fit my problem. I setup the Nest with an outlook e-mail account. Since then, I have deleted, and use a gmail account. When I remove the outlook user from the nest, The thermostat will allot me to add or for any other existing family members and tells me I need to transfer to another user. Well, I can't because that e-mail address is dead. So my problem remains, how to I remove the outlook from my family listing, and completely reset it under my gmail account user name on the Home App. BTW, there is NO software solution within the Google Home App listed. Your assistance would be appreciated.
P.S. Taking the battery out and waiting a few minutes is not working. Thanks again.

Since you deleted your old Nest Account with the outlook email (rather than migrating it to a Google Account), you will need to do a factory reset on any Google Nest devices and reinstall them.
We don't have a Nest thermostat, but maybe this Google Nest Help page will help:

The Nest Thermostat E gets installed in the Google Nest app, so you'll have to log into the Google Nest app using your Google (gmail) Account in order to reinstall.

That does not work. I have unplugged the thermostat, removed the batteries for two hours. Plugged it back in, waited another two hours. Replaced the batteries and attached back on the wall. That does not work either. I guess I'll just have to end up buying another Nest Thermostat. The error is mine for deleting an account before making sure all services and devices were unauthorized or transferred. Just wish it didn't cost me extra $$$.

On your thermostat, per the instructions, can you go to Settings | Reset | All Settings?
You could also try contacting Support, starting with this link. On the "Resources" page, skip selecting any of the help links and select "Next step" to get to the contact options.

Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out. I'd love to help. It seems like you have a Nest Thermostat 2020 since you mentioned removing the batteries and replacing them. To do a factory reset, go to your thermostat Settings then slide all the way down and select factory reset. You can add it back to your account using the Google Home app.
I appreciate your help, @MplsCustomer.
Best,
Jenelyn
