Installing nest thermostat

MT21
Community Member

I am trying to install a new nest thermostat. Before opening the package went through the steps of checking if it is compatible with my system and was told it is. When I started going through the instructions to install after selecting which wires I currently have it said it is not compatible. I currently have a 7 wire thermostat with wires on R, O/B, E, W2, Y, C, and G. Will the new nest thermostat work or not?

If you purchased a NEST Learning Thermostat , 3rd generation, or 2nd generation, and you set your system up as a dual fuel system, then, yes, the thermostat is compatible with your current system configuration.
