Hey gang, my nest thermostat keeps telling me invalid Wi-Fi password. I have two nest thermostats that have worked perfect for the last year then all of a sudden it will not connect to the Internet? It finds the net work but it will not except my password. All other devices around the house worked perfect. Any suggestions?

What model of thermostat do you have? Here's how to check:

Have you tried resetting its network settings? See the "Reset or restart your thermostat" section and scroll down to check if you can go to Settings > Reset > Network on t he thermostat.

Hey folks,

Thanks for helping out, davidking.

I'm sorry to know that you can't set up your Nest Thermostat to your WiFi network. Let's get this sorted — a few questions:

  1. What Nest thermostat model do you have?
  2. Are you trying to connect to the 2.4 GHz or the 5 GHz network?
  3. How far away is the thermostat from the router?
  4. If from the Nest or Google Home app: "Is your mobile device on a different Wi-Fi network than the thermostat?

Looking forward for your response.

Thanks,

JT

Hey SeanSelf66,

Sorry for the delay but thanks for these added details.

Just to confirm, is this the same router where your Nest thermostat devices were connected to before, right? Also, are there any changes made on your WiFi network recently? Also, is it possible to reset the Account connection settings of one of  your Nest thermostats then set it up again? Here's a guide: https://goo.gle/2KkSrC1

Keep me posted.

Best,

Melba

Hey there,

Checking back in — how's it going? Still need our help with your thermostat?

Best,

Melba

I have two of the Gen 3 thermostats.  They have worked great for over 6 months and now at the same time they will not connect to the internet.  They both say incorrect password.  Our lake house is small and the router is only a few feet away from the main living room thermostat and just a little further to our master bedroom thermostat.  All my other devices work perfectly.

We are still on 2.4 GHz.

Thank you for your help.

Sean
