I noticed in the YT video it shows the RC/RH connector

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dHKD-9uI24I

but the Nest unit I got has a separate R and C on different sides.

Do not jumper any wires on the Nest .

Put red to R, and match up the rest.

You will need to connect a C common wire. Is there an unused wire in the cable usually there are 5 wires.

Then you also need to connect it at the furnace to C terminal.

If you are using the Nest with the mirror glass not the learning model you will need a C wire connected to the furnace and the Nest.

The learning thermostat does not require a C wire .
