Manual schedule not working

Murtie
Community Member

Hi - I have a Schedule set up but the heating when it comes on at 6pm at 20c, switches itself off after some time. It’s meant to be on from 6-10pm so now as it’s nearer 10pm, it’s much colder

7-11am is 20c, then I’ve put it at 9c until 5pm when it goes back to 20c and back to 9c at 1030pm.

Has anyone else had this issue and why the schedule doesn’t sync up? It’s so frustrating because the house is so cold! And if I turn up the heating to say 21, the heating won’t always activate and the background stays ‘grey’ instead of ‘orange’

please help! Thank you in advance!

Hi there. Thanks for letting me know. Yes, if the ambient temperature is above, the heating won't turn on no matter what.

Hey @Murtie,

I'd like to take a look at your schedule. Can you share a screenshot?

hi - i think it' working a bit better but for 5pm schedule, the preheating is on at 12pm? why does it start too early when my true radiant is set on 1hr?

It is good to hear it is better. If you go to the thermostat energy history and tap on one of the days where this occurs you should see a orange dot where the heating activated. If you tap on it what does the description say activated? You can take a screenshot of it.

Thanks. Also please take a screenshot of the heating schedule so I can have a clear understanding of the expected behavior across each day.

Thank you so much and Just to confirm: True Radiant is set to off?

Murtie

It’s on but set at maximum of 1hr

That might be one of the issues. Would be possible to set it to off and then check if the thermostat follow the schedule?

Murtie

Ok I’ll do that now and see

Thanks - we have a separate annex connected to the house. It’s essentially a 2 bedroom flat. Their side gets a bit cooler so how can the nest thermostat recognise that side as well?

Hi I’m trying to see if it comes on at all, hours ahead of schedule.

if the heating is set at 20c, to come on at 530pm and doesn’t, could that be because the room itself is already 20c or above 20c?

Understood. The only method the thermostat can recognize the temperature is to move it to the area you want to be heated.
