I have a 2 yr old nest thermostat that can not hold a charge. I have recharged it on a USB and it is already not powered enough to connect to Wifi 3 hours later. How do I get a replacement battery or replacement unit

I went through all the checks and tested the c wire. Even charged it with the USB it turns out it is a faulty battery. There is no replacement option for the battery so I have to replace the thermostat. My old Honeywell lasted 20 years so I will go back to that brand and see if I can get more than 2.5 years out of their Smart Thermostat

Hey. I have a nest thermostat that is having. Same issue. It’s actually the third time o have had this issue. Each time I go through hours of back and forth with “support” and then they finally admit it’s the unit itself. I had a brand new nest thermostat that I plugged in and it works perfectly for the last few days. So I know it is the unit. NOT MY WIRING. I am so frustrated with this thermostat ever since Google bought out NEST. Hopefully you can get a replacement for free. If not then I’d recommended changing to a device that works more than 2 years. On another note, the nest that just died is one they sent me as a replacement on October of 2019 for the bad unit that I mentioned above. So these things apparently go to crap after 2 years. Hmmmm

Best regards,
