My nest thermostat is connected to WiFi but when I check nest server it says disconnected. I cannot control my device from Alexa or the Google home app because it says it is offline dispute the WiFi showing as connected, I’m fed up as I’ve done all the trouble shooting and nothing helps.

Hi Jose,

Sorry to hear about your connectivity issues! I can totally understand the frustration when dealing with WiFi. Let's work on this together.

We appreciate all the troubleshooting steps you've taken! Which ones have you tried to no avail? Are there any specific error codes you're receiving from your thermostat's display or the Google Home app?

I look forward to your reply and I'm hopeful we can resolve this issue.

I have the same issue. I restart my thermostat and it will work for the day and then it will show offline. Battery is good, shows connected on thermostat. I reset to factory settings and re linked it with google home and it goes offline again!  What can I do to rectify this?  It is getting very frustrating!

How do I fix this?

I didn't see nithing on the screen

Can someone reply with a solution??? All have the same issues & follow the troubleshooting suggestions to no avail. I’ve had to replace my equipment once before. It’s a pain in the a$$ to do it again. I’m on a echo saving program with my electric company but can’t participate if they can’t connect to it!!! Really annoying that I try entering in my WiFi info & says it can’t find it!!! Meanwhile I’m on my phone next to it literally connected to my WiFi!! Grrr

I have 3 google nest thermostats that will not stay online more than a few days. I have to restart all 3 every few days. Have been doing this for 8 months and it’s getting old. Can they be exchanged?

I'm having the same issue.  I'll restart it will last a day then go offline again.

Any ideas?

I have same issue. It started a week ago. I've checked the power from the battery and it's good. The signal from wifi is good. Wifi signal strength is at 74 to 75. All other wifi dependant equipment remains online when the T Stat is offline. I've done a reset 4 times now. Getting very old. 3rd gen t stat

Hi! I have the same issue. Tech installed it last week and everything worked fine and then suddenly it keeps going offline. We have not changed the wifi and the rest of the deviced of the house work fine. Any solution? It is really frustrating

Same problem but with a wireless Nest Protect smoke detector.  We have a wired one that has never had this problem.

Does anyone from Google read these posts?  It's never stayed connected for me longer than a day after a reset.  Thinking about buying the Alexa one

It's so frustrating that so many people are having similar issues, and Google does not have any resolution, and does not respond to these posts. Chat support is useless.

I upgraded my router to a modern dual band, and now thermostat is offline when I want to access it, other times it is online.  It is so inconsistent and unreliable on modern routers (gen 2 Nest Thermostat).  I have both Networks for the 2 Bands named the same thing, everything else can deal with this, but these thermostats and sometimes even the Newest Nest Protect has issue with it.  Frustrating.

Good day, I'm having the exact same problem, were they able to help you at all or does this product just suck!?

Nest1453

Well mine is still offline and no one has bothered to reply.  It's so frustrating.  When it works it's great but this is the 2nd time it's happened to me and what I hate the most is there isn't a tech center to call and get help right away.  The troubleshooting NEVER works.  Grrrrrr

Hi InfamousDylan,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with your Nest Thermostat. I'd love to know more about this and I have a few questions:

  • What type of thermostat do you have?
  • How is your Nest Thermostat wired?
  • What is the battery level of your Nest Thermostat?

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

Edward

I'm not Infamous Dylan, but I have similar offline issues.  I've had Nest Thermostats for years (one upstairs and one downstairs) and this is the first time I've had any problems.  For the past 2 weeks, i've been getting "No Power" and Offline messages.  Error code:E298. I've replaced the batteries (even thought the battery level showed as good), restarted the devise, and checked my Wi-Fi.  We haven't relocated the router and nothing else has changed with the HVAC system or wiring.  The downstairs unit has just stopped connecting properly and keeps shutting off.  It's a Nest Thermostat - 1.4

While appreciate your reply these steps do nothing in getting back "online".  There's nothing wrong with my wifi and any attempts to connect to wifi do not work.  I've even rest the device, nothing.

I'm still having issues.  I haven't been able to get back online after all the troubleshooting. Do I just need to call in to PGE and order a new one?  Do you have a direct number to call and order a new one?

Does anyone know if you can set a static IP address for the Nest thermostat will stabilize the connection ?

Mifleck

Well I am going to try and warranty the unit nothing has worked and this forum is a joke. My thermostat will not even make it through the night without going offline.
