I have  a Nest Thermostat that  stopped working this morning .  I  took it off base , and charged up with USB  cable .  After being prompted to plug back into base.  it  powered on , and briefly showed the temp settings .  I went back to check  5 minutes after  and  the error code  showed up .

E195  -  no power detected to red wire .  I only have a furnace hooked up , and  R and W connections .  Checked wire into plugs  and they seemed good contacts.  What else t trouble shoot ?

When you first installed a nest thermostat, did you run a power test? Since you only have two wires, the nest must get the power from the heating system when it’s not on. If you’re not receiving power, one of two things must be wrong. The the heating system is no longer providing power. The second is the reverse path down the W wire might be having a problem as well.

Hi Ken_h,

Thanks for reaching out. I'd love to help. Could you please try to remove both of the wires on your thermostat and wait for at least 60 seconds before inserting them? Make sure to turn off your breaker first before touching the wires. Also, ensure those wires are straight, flattened and seated properly on its terminals. After that, turn the breaker back on.

I appreciate your help, @CoolingWizard.

Best,
