Nest 2nd Gen losing connection

Hi my 2nd gen nest thermostat has started losing connection to the internet ( according to the nest app) the battery is at 3.92 and my router indicates it is connected to my network but it still loses connection several times a day . I tried restarting the nest and also doing a factory reset but the issue still persists. Dos anyone have any other solutions or could it be just due to the age of the unit which is 8-9 years old now

The 2nd Gen stats are pretty robust, but could be the wifi chip failing.

I can only suggest reset Network, but do that twice in the reset section, and a restart in that section also. Do all 3 operations after each other.

I have already tried that with no success 

OH dear, in that case you could be spending out on another unit sadly.

Yes that’s what I was thinking also, but thought I should ask here just in case

A couple of things I forgot to mention. Make sure your connected directly to the router, not a hot spot/extender. Have you any new appliances at all, ie microwave wifi equipment etc., and the other try on 2.4 not 5ghz.
