Nest Learning not connecting or finding WiFi

JPalm
Community Member

I have done all the trouble shooting, restarting device, apps, wifi, and cannot get my Nest to find any wifi.  I heard it could be a chip issue. How do I get a new device.  This is a 6 month old device in a home that I just moved into.

Is there a phone number for tech help or warranty help?
I have the box with serial number.

Thanks,

Do you get an error or numeric code in the Nest app? Try these steps:

  1. Factory reset the thermostat.
  2. If you haven’t already, download the Nest app on a phone or tablet.
  3. On the Nest app home screen, tap the Settings cog.
  4. Tap Add product. The app will switch to a camera view to scan the thermostat’s QR code.
  5. On the thermostat, press it to open the quick view menu and tap the Settings cog.
  6. Turn the ring to select Nest app and press to open it.
  7. Select QR code. Your thermostat will show you a unique QR code to scan with the app. If it doesn't, tap Continue without scanning in the app and select Get entry key on your thermostat instead.
  8. Follow the remaining steps in the Nest app.

Hi JPalm,

Thanks for the update. Are you getting any messages when your Nest Thermostat is looking for Wifi networks?

Thanks,

Edward

Best.com/m15. It does not find my Wi-Fi at all. Reset everything.

Hi JPalm,

Thanks for the response. M15 errors usually occur when you interact with the Nest thermostat after you started a new pairing session but didn't finish it.

The pairing process may seem like it's completed once you've set up the Wi-Fi connection and Thread, and added the thermostat to the account. However, the setup needs to be finished in the Nest app. Please try the following steps:

  1. Once you pair the thermostat, please choose a mode like Eco, Heat, Cool, etc.
  2. Go back to the Nest app, and the app will show a circle with an exclamation mark on the Nest thermostat.
  3. Tap the exclamation mark and continue the thermostat configuration in the app. There's no need for the customer to choose Reset Device on the thermostat.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Edward

Thanks but I can’t pair it at all. I get w/5 network error. My Wi-Fi is T-Mobile gateway 5g.
