Nest Sensor won’t connect (saying already associated to another account)

Hi,

I was having issues with the Nest App for my thermostat so I had to delete the app and do a factory reset on my thermostat which worked.  However I cannot add my sensor back.  Every time I try to add it, it says I can’t because it’s associated to another account.  I only have one account though.  I saw you can do a factory reset on it but the sensor doesn’t even pull up in my account settings so I can’t do that.  I took out the battery for and put it back in after 5 minutes but it didn’t work.  Any ideas!  Again each time I try to add the product it just says error, associated to another account.

Thanks for posting and sorry for the delay ― let's get this sorted out.

 

Give these steps a whirl

 

  1. Unpair and pair the sensor back to the account. Here's how: Remove a product from your account
  2. Make sure that you are not seeing the Nest Temperature Sensor in your app before trying to pair it back.
