Nest Thermostat Delayed 2-1/2 Hours

Coco3786

Hello. I have had my thermostat for 4 years. The last 4 months it shows 2-1/2 delay every time we try to heat the house but never turns on. Basically our thermostat has completely stopped working and we can’t figure it out. Have tried removing the app and did a factory reset. Unfortunately didn’t correct the issue. Looking for suggestions. Thank you.

Do you have the learning one, or the Google Nest Thermostat where you control it from Google Home?

It is the learning one. We have reset everything and turned learning off.

Hello folks,

I wanted to stop by and see how I could help.

Thanks for assisting, @faerie.

@Coco3786, I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues with your Nest Thermostat, and I appreciate all the steps you've taken. It's most likely a power-related issue in which your thermostat is trying to send a signal to your system to run, but it's not enough to reach the target temperature.

To isolate:

  • What other strange symptoms have you experienced since the problem started?
  • When was the last maintenance check for your HVAC system?
  • Has there been any recent change or upgrade to your HVAC system?
  • Does the issue happen with heating only, cooling only, or both?
  • Do you have a common ground wire, or C wire?
  • Please check the power readings on your thermostat's technical information settings.

I'll look forward to your response.

Regards,
Mark
