Installed a Nest Thermostat v1.4, which appallingly there is so little supporting information and it doesn't work with the Nest App.
Irrespective, within 2 days, the OEM batteries showed "Low Battery." So I replaced them with good alkalines, and now they show "Low Battery" with a level of 3.14v.
Can a moderator point me in the direction of why this is? I understand what a c-wire does, but I read that these batteries are not rechargeable anyway, which would make the c-wire meaningless, I believe.
Thanks.
(BTW, Google should change the name of the "Nest Thermostat" to something like "Nest Thermostat Basic" to be able to more effective search to get these answers.)

Jake, no that isn't helpful. I know all that. I had batteries in and receiving low battery message with 3.15v. I have new batteries in that show battery ok with 3.13v. (But this will fail soon, as I have replaced batteries several times)

My voltage is steady at 3.15v .... so, ya it makes no sense that I went from good battery to low voltage to very low voltage.... all the while at 3.15v
