My Nest Thermostat is reading higher than actual and is off by 10C. It appears that the thermostat is heating up and after I remove it from the wall for a few hours [allowing it to cool] it reads normal.
I contacted support and they were completely useless telling me that it could be a WIFI issue.
After explaining to them several times that its not WIFI and that there is something wrong with the thermostat I am still lost and they are still getting back to me.
When I asked about the temperature sensors to see if this could help the Senior Tech Support person told me that it wont help cause they think its a WIFI issue
I have decided to buy the nest sensors [$100 later] and this was a way around my issue since the sensor temperature overrides the temperature on the thermostat.
Nest sensors are reading fine which are connected to the same WIFI.
I am still waiting for a response from nest/google.

I am also having the same issue , my nest is reading as if it's at the maximum temperature just upstairs, stopping me from putting my heating on as it can't go any higher. Did you get a solution to thus in the end?

Hi Edward, it's the second generation nest..its wired. It started happening after I got a new nest for downstairs and switched this one to upstairs. Yes it has been warm to touch.

I already gave up after this response…
“Thanks for reaching out to the Google Nest Customer Care Team. We've exhausted all our troubleshooting steps, the next best step is to get a replacement. However, your thermostat warranty has expired. In this case, I recommend that you purchase a new thermostat. “

No not yet, and it’s very disappointing. The support team keep bouncing me around. I just bought the nest sensors to fix this issue.
