I've had my Nest installed for nearly a year now an no issues until earlier this week. All of a sudden my thermostat decided if wouldnt stay connected to my wifi. I have tried resetting the router, I have tried restarting the thermostat both multiple times only to have the same issue occur around 30 minutes later.
Nothing has moved in the house e.g. router hasnt moved and neither has the thermostat so i cant why when it connected fine for the last year it has all of a sudden decided to misbehave. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I could look to resolve this.

Firstly I would stand beside the thermostat and check the strength of the Wifi signal using the mobile. Do you get a W5 error message on the thermostat? This happened to me. I contacted NEST support and they talked me through a number of checks. They were very helpful and patient. When it still did not work, they told me to return the thermostat. Fortunately it was under warranty.

The obvious question is any error code on the screen at all? W5 is a chip failure, but as you can reset the thermostat wifi, you obviously are not seeing that error!
The other question are you in the UK, and how old is the stat?
There are many reasons for loosing wifi connection, but the most common are objects, and connection to a wifi booster/mesh acess point. Yes the thermostat might have worked for a year, but have you connected direct to the router? Have you placed any new objects in the house, ie: Microwave, fridge etc., etc? These all block the signal especially from a booster.
Resetting your router or display most of the time does't fix the issue in my experience, but always worth a try. I would check for any new item inside the house first of all.

I have had no new items but tried moving the thermostat next to the router to rule it this out and still seem to be having connectivity issues.

How is the Nest wired?
Is there a C wire installed?
Do you still have a picture of the original thermostat's wiring that you can post here?
