Do you have a C wire installed?

Which Nest Thermostat do you have?

If you don't then you probably need one and you can use a spare wire at the thermostat or the Nest Power Connector to create one

Hey folks,

Thanks for answering, Patrick_Caezza.

zarroli, I'm chiming to ensure your thermostat  is good to go. Do you still need help here? If yes, could you answer the questions raised above? Also, is your Nest thermostat's display completely off or are you getting a specific message or code on it?

My nest display read low battery.  It would not charge so I took it off the.base and charged it with a usb.  Battery would not charge higher than 3.6 volt and when I put it back on the base the voltage dropped quickly.   The battery will not hold a charge on or off the base.  I put a brand new battery in and it is doing the same thing.  Is it the battery?  Is it the unit?  Now the screen is completely black and shows no messages.  What’s up?

Hey Zarroli1,

It could either be the unit itself or the battery. Is this the new Nest Thermostat that needs to be set up using the Google Home app? If yes, did you change the batteries with 2 new AAA alkaline batteries? Also, do you have a C wire on your current thermostat wires?
