Moved to a new house and bought a nest thermostat and brought an old nest sensor from an old house. Couldn’t get nest thermostat to connect to the nest app but it works in the Google home app. For the longest time my nest sensor wasn’t showing up in either app. Just noticed it is suddenly in my Google home app but won’t give a temperature reading. I click it and it says I need to connect it to my Wi-Fi. I try to and can’t find out how. I scanned the QR code and tried to add to nest app. Says I cannot without adding a nest thermostat. Frustrating. Please help

Hello Connor,
I'm sorry to hear about the issues that you're having when trying to set up your Nest products. Let's sort this out.
To be clear, could you please tell us what type of Nest thermostat you have? Here's your reference to tell which you have. Also, is this a first time set-up? If so, try resetting your thermostat to default and attempting to add it back to the app.
I'll look forward for your response.
Best regards,
Mark

Hi Connor,
Thanks for getting back to us and letting us know which version of Nest thermostat you have.
I'm sorry if you're having trouble adding it. It appears that you have a mirror-finished thermostat. Nest Temperature Sensors only work with the Nest Learning Thermostats and Nest Thermostat E. You might want to have a look at this article about the Nest Temperature Sensor and let us know if you need more help.
Best regards,
Mark
