My Nest 3rd Generation Thermostat connects to Nest App through my hotspot but NOT through my wi-fi. Other devices that use 2.4mhz connect to my router so it’s not my router. Thermostat sees SSID and connects to internet. The problem is the Nest App which is updated. Reset thermostat. Thoughts?

Hi Rickr149,
Thanks for posting in the Google Nest Community forum. When routers do some updates, it may lead to the Nest Thermostat's router settings to disable. To isolate the issue further, could you please check that the router settings below are enabled for your thermostat?
Here are the most important recommended Wi-Fi networks and router settings:
If you're not familiar with Wi-Fi router settings, contact your internet service provider (ISP) or router manufacturer for help with these settings. After enabling those settings, try to connect your thermostat again, and let me know how it goes.
Best,
Jenelyn

Thank you so much for the suggestion. The bottom line was that my Xfinity router was on IPv6 with high security. Even on IPv4 my thermostat would not work until I changed it to medium security. Now my Google Wi-Fi mesh, my Nest thermostat, and my Atomi lights all work as they should. Thanks again for the advice.
