Nest thermostat shows fan icon but blower fan is not running

Hi. I'm hoping to get some expert's help. We have 2 Nest thermostats in our home: one for upstairs, one for downstairs, they were installed couple years ago when we moved in. Lately I've noticed both of them acting weird. Whenever I try to turn the fan on ( without AC going), it shows the fan icon as if fan is on but it's actually not running at all. Same for both thermostats.

Fan still works fine with AC.

Any ideas what's going on? They never had this issue before.

Thanks!

Hi Bobabarble,

Thanks for reaching out and I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with turning on the fan on your Nest Thermostat. I'd love to know more about this and I have a few questions:

  • What type of Nest Thermostat do you have?
  • How is your Nest Thermostat wired?
  • Please share the power readings of your Nest Thermostat. You could see this information by going to Settings > Technical Info > Power.

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

Edward
