Nest thermostat

I connected all of the wires to my nest but I keep getting a messaging saying that the green wire can’t be detected. I cute the wire and reinserted it (ensured that it was inserted snuggly into the hole, the button stayed down) but my Nest still isn’t recognizing it

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with setting up your Nest Thermostat. I see that you've already tried some steps to resolve this. To isolate the issue, could you try putting in your old thermostat and check if the fan would work?
