The A/C has been cutting out in the middle of the night, the system worked fine from about 8am to midnight. We called an HVAC pro to troubleshoot and because the system worked perfectly fine during the day, we chalked it up to a faulty thermostat; I replaced it last night with a new Nest.
I installed it at 5pm last night and everything was working perfectly; it is now 5am and I’m getting a No Power-E298 error code.

Any thoughts?

Hi CoppellTX,
Thanks for reaching out. Please make sure the power to the system is on. The power switch is usually in the breaker box, but in some homes, it's like a light switch near the HVAC equipment. There may be a single switch or 2 switches: one for heat and another one for cool. Make sure the power is on for both, and then check the Nest Thermostat. You can also check the Nest Thermostat wires. [Important: Turn off the power to the HVAC unit. Failure to do so may result in electrical accidents that may cause damage, injury, or even death].
If the issue still persists, please contact a Nest Pro.
Thanks,
Jennifer
