Trying to determine if the white wire in the picture should actually go to aux as aux is typically brown. Installed everything per the app instructions and getting no power to the new Nest thermostat. Attached a picture for reference. Thanks

Hi NCSC,
Thanks for reaching out. I understand that sometimes wiring configuration is really confusing. In this case, you just have to follow the wiring set up from your old thermostat. To confirm, do you have the second stage of heating or cooling? What type of Nest Thermostat do you have?
Keep us posted.

Emerson

Hi there,
Thanks for assisting, Emerson.
@NCSC, I'm checking back in — how's it going? Still showing no power to your thermostat? I found a helpful article with some troubleshooting steps to follow when your thermostat shows any wiring. Please let us know if that helps, or if the issue still persists.
Best,
Mark

Sorry for the delayed reply. I was able to get things resolved via the Nest customer service line. The common was not needed and moved the R wire to the other side. Working properly now.
