Set Nest for Home When Away

  • I travel a lot and need to keep the air conditioning on while I am away. However I cannot change the setting from Away to Home while I am away. If I don’t keep it running days, before I return it will not be cool in my apartment. Please tell me the exact steps to get the Nest app to think I am home, while I am away. Thanks.

Sorry if this a repeat reply but the app has a pop up that interfere with me selecting send. 
I am grateful for your reply. I wonder if you could tell me how to keep Nest in HOME MODE? Even when I am away. I need some days for my older AC to cool down the unit before I return home. thank you.

Try setting up a schedule or possible away/home setting is based off you cell location.

How do I change the location to stay loved at home a few days before my return? Please see additional info in the above reply. Thank you.

turn off 

Home/away assist, auto schedule, early on, cool to dry, airwave, eco temps, safety temps & fan schedule. edit or Delete your existing schedule. Good luck.

Hi folks, 

 

Thanks for reaching out to us. Please follow the steps below: 

 

  1. Open the Nest app.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Select Home/Away Assist.
  4. Choose What decides if you’re home.
  5. Tap the switch to disable phone location for Home/Away Assist so the Nest Thermostat will remain in Home mode.
