Thermostat compatibility

I just want to install a simple thermostat without all the stone walling from google to get help. The device I have will not display a set up code. Nest thru my android phone says it is not compatible but "support.google" says it is. 

Any suggestions as to how I can address this?

Which Nest thermostat do you have?

Patrick, the thermostat is the newest model I believe, has a reflective face and does not have the outside ring for settings. Packaging says a "google nest thermostat.

I am having an issue with the photo, so will describe the connections from left to right

Terminal RC has a jumper to R and R has a red wire; W is empty; Y has a black wire; G a green wire; C a blue wire, S1 and S2 are empty; O/B an orange wire; L is empty; W2 a white wire; Y2 a yellow wire.

I have a single stage heat pump with heat strip backup. I will see if I can fix the photo issue.

It appears that you have a heat pump with a second stage cooling system which is Nest compatible, but only applicable in the Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd Generation. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns, as I'll be willing to assist you further.
