I accidentally removed the icon for thermostat from the Google home app and now can’t figure out how to put it back or reconnect! Help!

Here's how to fix it:

  1. Create  a new home in the Home app:
Share a home and devices in the Google Home app - Google Nest Help
  2. Go back to the previous home by tapping the name of the home at the top.
  3. Tap your thermostat, then tap the settings cog at the top right.
  4. Tap "Device information" then tap "Home".
  5. Change the home to the new one you just created.

This should add the thermostat icon to the app in the new home. You can move other devices from your previous home to the new one by following the same steps above. The only thing you can't do that with is Google Wifi or Nest WIfi, which would need to be reset and setup again in the new home.

Hello folks,

I wanted to stop by and see how I could help.

Thanks for the steps, @David_K.

@Ukraine76, how's it going? Have you managed to re-link your Nest Thermostat in the Google Home app? If you haven't yet, could you please go to your actual thermostat's Account settings and let me know if it still shows an account was connected?

I'll look forward to your response.

Regards,

Mark
