Hello all,
I was wondering if this wiring is compatible with the Nest system. From looking at the wires it looks like RJ45 wiring and I know that has 6 wires.
Now if it's not would they be able to rewire the system by using the same cable or would they have to run new cable?
Thank you in advance.

Hello @Louie107,
Thanks for reaching out. Please use the following compatibility checker to check if your system is compatible with Nest thermostats: Compatibility Checker.
Hope that helps! 🙂

Hi everyone,
Thanks for posting in the Google Nest Community forum. I'm sorry for the delay. I just want to check if you managed to see the responses above.
Proprietary systems aren’t compatible with Google Nest Thermostats. However, some proprietary systems can be rewired by a pro installer to be compatible. You can check out this support article for your reference about Nest Thermostat Compatibility.
I appreciate the help, @listairee and @CoolingWizard.
Best,
Jenelyn

@Louie107 , Your Trane uses digital communications interface and that is not going to be compatible. I see you have many unused conductor wires. Most of manufacturers provide both a conventional and digital interfaces in the air handler. This will require your to reward your air handler and your outdoor unit. This is the only path to using a conventional control system.
