Turn off Leaf

Hi I have a regular Nest Thermostat, not a learning one. home and away is not set up. I have no schedule. I simply increase/decrease cooling temperature as I desire. Recently it has started to override my setting and I wake up sweaty. I set it to cool to 70 and I will check and it is 73 with a little green icon that says peak savings. I don’t care about this.
I go to settings > temperature > leaf

“Leaf is always running”

No option to change this. I should be allowed to say I don’t want this. How do I disable leaf?

The green leaf icon is linked to the eco mode. You can turn to a different mode.

Not a solve here. There is no eco mode on the thermostat or in the google home app.

For those with the same problem I found that there is something called Leaf Renew that I think is controlling it. Im sure it was a quick pop up screen where it said “support clean energy” or something similar so you said ok. But leaf renew will adjust your settings to make your energy use cleaner. Type it in and see - you’re probably enrolled or subscribed without realizing it. And that is what is controlling your thermostat when you don’t want it to. It’s your commitment to being green. So unsubscribe and I think that will solve your problem. You can not do this through the thermostat or the app. Go to nestrenew.google.com

Hi bebetter,

Thanks for getting back to us and for sharing here the steps on how to unsubscribe from the Nest Renew. To make sure that all is good, were you able to unsubscribe? Did unsubscribing resolve your issue? Let us know your update here.

Regards,

Emerson

I did unsubscribe and since then I haven't had this problem. To make the auto leaf or eco mode go away when it is not an option to manually do it, I think this is the solution.

Hi folks,

Chiming in — thanks for the update. I'm glad to hear that the issue no longer exists after unsubscribing you from Nest Renew. Please continue monitoring your Nest Thermostat's behavior and let us know if anything comes up.

I appreciate the input, Emerson.

Cheers,

Jenelyn
