issue 1: I have a Google Nest Thermostat - 1.4. I've successfully set it up via my Google Home account in my Nest app on my iPhone.
I want to access the same thermostat via my Google account using the home.nest.com - when I log in with my google account - it shows my home, and my location - but the thermostat is not shown, only HOME and AWAY. If I try to add my thermostat here - it tells me I need to go to the Settings and Nest app on the thermostat to get a code - when I go to settings - there's NO Nest app option.
Issue 2: When it is dark in the room - the Nest goes in to a dim mode - it is so dim I can't even read it. How do I set the brightness in the dim mode? I can't find this option anywhere.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hey EricLevinson,
Apologies for the delayed reply. I wanted to assist you further and ensure you are good to go. I would recommend checking your Ambient settings on the device, as you should be able to adjust the brightness there. That should make it easier for you to see the device in the dark once it dims.
As for the first issue, I did find an article that could be of help. Please let me know if that does help, as I would be happy to review for further troubleshooting steps.
Best regards,
Jake

Thanks - could you please tell me where I might find the Ambient setting on this thermostat? I've been through every menu option and it isn't there.
As for your response to my first question - again - there"s no Nest thermostat listed to "pull down" and no way to add it.

Hey EricLevinson,
Press the ring to adjust the brightness of your Nest thermostat’s display. You can select low, medium, high, or auto. If you have a Nest Thermostat E, brightness is adjusted automatically.
As for the first issue, try following the steps below to see if that pulls up the code on your device for you to enter. I will also link the article here, for you to take a closer look.
Please let me know if that is where you are running into the trouble of not seeing the Nest App option.
Best regards,
Jake

Jake - this is not the conventional RIng access - my thermostat is white with a mirror front. I can access the menu by sliding my finger on the right side. There's no "Get Entry Key" or "Quick View
menu.

Hey EricLevinson,
Apologies for the confusion on my part. I would recommend double-checking the power to the device, as it should auto adjust depending on the brightness of the room. Are you able to send a picture of the power to the device? I would like to ensure the device is being properly powered.
Best regards,
Jake

Our furnace is new - it has a 24v transformer and it is wired to the thermostat. This forum will not allow me to upload images. I have one with the power. It shows:
Vin: 36.276 V
lin: 385
PS: C-385

This is about Nest thermostat 1.4 with the mirror front. No ring to rotate.
This new model is not listed anywhere on Google or Nest websites.
How can this NEST thermostat be added to the Nest App?

I am having the same problem. My Google Nest 1.4 is showing up under Google Home. How can I get the Nest app to recognize it. I try to scan and add through nest app but it says it's controlled through google home app. Does the native nest app not work with this thermostat?
