Wiring old to new thermostat

On my old thermostat I had a brown wire going to W1, a white wire going to RH and a black wire loop going to RC/RH. The nest thermostat will not let me put2 wires in one port so I can’t recreate the loop so now the thermostat and boiler do not connect and the boiler stays on. Any solutions?

Hi Bobbyo60,

Uh-oh! The black wire loop going from the RC to the RH terminal of your current thermostat is a jumper wire, which shouldn't be connected to the Nest Thermostat as that is not required. You can just connect the thermostat wires to the Nest Thermostat as brown wire to W or W1 and white wire to RH. You may learn more here in the beginner's guide to the Nest Thermostat.

Let us know if that helps.

Best,

Zoe
