Epson 7100 keeps disconnecting from Google WiFi

We recently set up an Epson 7100 printer with Google WiFi (not Nest). It connected to network and worked fine wirelessly. After period of not being used (several hours), it disconnects from WiFi and is not available to print over WiFi. If we restart the printer, it will find the network again and work fine until it goes inactive again. Any idea how to maintain the link between the printer and Google WiFi?

Sorry for the issues you're having with your printer. That sounds like a really inconvenient issue to have to deal with. I personally run a WiFi print setup on my Google WiFi and I'm sure it would drive me crazy if it kept dropping from the network. Let's take a look at what might be going on here. I do have some questions that might help us sort this out.

  • Does your printer have an energy saving mode that is turned on?
  • When the printer disconnects, can you still see it on the device list in the Home app?
  • During the disconnect, does your printer still see the WiFi network (if you go into its settings, does it say connected)?
  • Is this the only device dropping from your network currently?

If you can let me know a little more about the situation, I'm sure we can figure this out. I look forward to your response.
