Google WiFi - Device Missing In IP Reservations

jpmonteith
Community Member

New Google WiFi setup and I have been manually assigning IP reservations to important devices and servers on my home network. It has been working really well -- except one device is missing. Windows 10 desktop system with RJ45 ethernet connection. Yes, it is pulling from Google WiFi DHCP and it shows in the wired list within the WiFi portion of the Google Home app but when I go to the advanced area and click the + circle in IP Reservations the device is not listed.

This particular issue was reported previously and there was no official solution. So, it sounds like I am not the only one that has experienced this. Any thoughts on what is causing this bug / how it can be fixed? Thanks! jp

Hi jpmonteith,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with manually assigning an IP address for your Windows 10 desktop. I understand that doing a factory reset on your Google WiFi would be difficult since you already have other devices with assigned IP addresses, but that would be the next step that we can try to isolate the issue.

Let us know the results if you try it.

Thanks,

Edward

Do you know if there is a faster way to get support on this than a 3 week turn-around on a reported issue? A factory reset on brand new hardware (it does not get any more "reset" than that) is not an ideal answer, nor does it make much sense unless there is a known issue causing this that requires a factory reset. Is there such an issue?
