Google Home Nest Hub

Hello all. I'm asking for advice because I'm not sure about the nest hub. I love the idea of having control of the house from my couch, with the hub on the coffee table.

First, it seems like I'd need to have one at my desk, another by my bed, one in the LR and another in the kitchen. Surely that's not the case, is it? Or do we unplug and take it with us to another room?

Second, I feel like between my nest mini, chromecast and phone, I have most of the features already covered. 

Does anybody have any thoughts on this? Should I maybe wait to see what they come up with next?
