Nest Yale Lock won't connect

airtomy

I have recently upgraded my mesh network. All devices in my home including many nest devices (i.e., outdoor cam, indoor cam, thermostat, etc.) have reconnect properly. The only devices that is not able to connect is the Nest Door Lock. Nest Connect has been reconnected, but the Yale Lock is not able to connect. I have tried resetting the lock multiple time, but no luck. I have tried connecting to a wifi network without password, no luck.

I have been able to get to the screen where it asks to "Press and hold the button". However, no matter how long you hold down the button, the light on the button does not pulse nor does it says "it's ready". It many cases, it comes back with T026 error. I suspect the lock is not able to connect to the Nest Connect.

Any thoughts in re. to next steps?

Error codes that end with T026 are common when setting up with an iOS device. Try these steps:

  1. Ignore the app instructions and tap "try again".
  2. You typically need to do this more than once.

If your lock still won't connect after several attempts, try these steps:

You mentioned you tried connecting it to a Wifi network without a password. Was that a mobile hotspot? Try setting a password for the mobile hotspot?

No. I enable my guest wifi network without a password. Nest connect was able to connect no problem. However the best lock doesn’t seem to pair or connect no matter how many time I tried to connect.

in the instructions, it tells me to hold down the button until the locks says ‘it’s ready for use’, but it never gets to that steps no matter how long I hold down that button.

Qi’s for you… what is the difference between a phone hotspot without password vs. Home wifi network without a password?

thoughts?

Hi airtomy,

I apologize for the delayed response and for the issues you are having with the Nest x Yale Lock. No worries; I’m here to help.

Question: Are you pressing the reset button at the back of the lock next to the cable connector?
