Hub Max Web Pages Too Big for Screen

Mark23
Community Member

Hi there,

when my Hub Max shows Google Web pages for results the left hand side of the page is cut off!

you cannot move or resize the screen to see it. I’ve reset and powered down the hub and it’s still the same issue. This is a web only sizing issue, as all other content is perfect - Just Google web pages displayed as results.

The same thing happens for us if we say "Hey Google, open google.com" and then enter a search term; the results are truncated on the left.

I've never used this particular search.

If I say "Hey Google, open cnn.com" (or other sites), the results are NOT truncated.

Thank you for that MplsCustomer,  So it shows is happening to others as well so it’s more likely a code or script that needs to be altered for this page sizing issue, for certain web pages?? It’s probably a regional setting or country dependent.
Hey Google -  please investigate this for us!!

I am experiencing the same issue on every Google Home / nest hub I have an my house. This is a new issue and very frustrating!

Experiencing the same issue. Kinda more than slightly annoyed considering all of the other bugs I’ve spent way too much time troubleshooting.

Same problem here! I rebooted, unplugged, replugged, tried to get someone to call me a million times (no call) then finally used the chat. I literally just spent over 1.5 hours "Fixing" this via chat. Dude made me reboot back to factory settings so now I've lost everything that I spent WAY to much time on setting up and THE PROBLEM IS STILL THERE! It still cuts off the text on the left hand side. I gotta say, this device is incredibly low on the intelligence factor when you see what Ai capable of these days. GOOGLE: Please fix this.

The unit is really not very good... there is this issue as well as the calendar issue... I bought mine yesterday... If this new issue isn't fixed over the weekend then mine is going straight mack to the shop.

RETURN IT! This thing is garbage especially when you think of where we're at with Ai!
It's THE most unintelligent device ever. If I could return it, I would. Do it now.

Same here.  I can't recall exactly when this began but it is the same with all of my hubs and maxs.

I hope Google see these responses and act on them now!
I did notice there is a feedback option in the Hub’s setup screen. I have left the same feedback there just in case somebody does actually read them??

Probably would not hurt if you guys out there tried that way as well through the Hub’s feedback option on screen? Thanks 🙂

I just bought my Hub Max and am having the exact same issue.

Same issue here on a Canadian purchased Nest Hub. I have had mine since V2 was released with sleep sensing. Not sure when it started happening, but all Google web text results are cut off on the left side. The right side is also off screen but can be swiped left to see the rest of the text. Swiping right does not work, so the text will remain cut off. Pinch to zoom will not go any smaller to get all the text to fit fully in the frame. So as you can see, I have the exact same issue as everyone else in this forum/thread.

Google Nest team, please fix or acknowledge the issue so we know it is being worked on!

I agree so much.  If someone would just acknowledge the issue and state whether they are working on this or not.  At least I would know that someone out there has heard us.  Hello....can you here me now...? Oh, that's  Verizon.....lol

Same here. Started happening I think in the last two or three weeks.

Same issue here. Recently encountered.

The following do not solve:

  • Rebooting unit
  • Unplugging unit for 5 mins
  • Toggling off magnify setting under Accessibility menu

Keen to have this fixed. Not critical but it is a frustrating experience when search results can't be read.

Has an answer been found yet? I would like to resolve this issue as well 😔

The only answer is a software update by Google Nest team. They have not updated us on if it is is in the works or not. Having some basic programming knowledge, it should be easy and should not be long to issue this fix. Why they are saying nothing and doing nothing is beyond me!

Same. I just asked “Hey Google, why does your browser not fit your screen” and for the first time in several weeks it gave me a properly sized google search page.  I cannot replicate it. 🤦‍♂️

I did the same however, the answer wasn't in a browser window. My issue is only with search results within Chrome on the Nest.

This has been going on for months and it is extremely annoying because it renders the search function practically useless since you can't see the most important part of the results.

I thought it was just us. I'm having the same problem and was wondering if I needed to upgrade my Home screens. Waiting for a response.

Same here, I just noticed this the other day.  I am getting this issue on all of my Nest products with a screen.  Is this something Google is aware of and are working on?  Thx

Same on mine. I use my hub for recipes and it is currently useless.

You're not alone Pam, I too use mine for recipes, well I did

Nest display isn't showing Web pages properly when I ask a question.

  • It's like the Web page is too wide for the display.
  • I'll try to post a picture

It's the same issue as reported here.

Please fix this Google as it is very annoying and upsets my son who uses the device all the time.

Complete garbage and probably the most UNintelligent device out there. Get with the program google. Ai is running circles around this thing. DO NOT BUY A GOOGLE HUB!!!! Biggest waste of $200 dollars ever. I bought the Hub Max less than a year ago. Sigh... I wish I could return this.

You have one software bug and you think it is garbage and want to return it? Yes it is an annoying bug but aside from that, it is still a very useful device for streaming tv/sports, music, podcasts, and more.
