I’m also having the same problem, tried recovery mode and factory reset but still just rebooting to a grey screen with a G in the middle.

I believe they are playing game with customer... here is my Case ID: 0-############1998. waiting for too long for nothing...

It certainly appears what you say is accurate. This is a bad game for Google to play, yet it certainly seems as though this is the case. It could cost them big time if this is accurate.

Same problem here. Google nest hub 2 gen

Hi all,
I clicked on a link that I found in a post from a community specialist and it took me to a form to fill out. I ended up chatting with someone from google that was very helpful. They walked me through some things to try and eventually had me send in pics of serial numbers and a case number that they sent me and they processed a replacement for me. Hope this helps...
Ken
I think this is specialist post that took me to the link...If not, scroll through the post til you find a community specialist instead of a community member....

You may be one of the lucky ones, then again - perhaps not. I filled out the form, nothing. Others have gone thru the paces and then sent pictures, have been promised replacements - and still months later, nothing. Seems like the luck of the draw to me, but you may also win the lottery. After all, someone's gotta win, right?

Omg I’m so annoyed!! Never had an issue until tonight, and then I see here it’s unfixable!! Tried 4 times to RE rest, I use mine everyday! Just goes back to grey screen with g ??
02-26-2022 05:58 AM
That's exactly what happened to mine - stays at the G no matter how many times I've reset it. I'm so annoyed too!

This happened to me as well. Noting is fixing it. Trash product.

My Google Nest Hub not powering on and is on ‘G’ grey screen for a week. Same problem. Tried the online chat but it keeps saying problem with the form so can’t submit or request for a call. I tried calling but the line doesn’t go thru.

My Google Home Nest Hub (1st Gen) was stuck on G screen. In order to access Reset to Factory Settings, I had to first put the unit into Recovery Mode (plugging in while holding down volume buttons). I tried many variations of when to let go of the volume buttons after the 10 sec timer was up. Those resulted in either rebooting to static G screen again or looping back to Factory Reset 10 sec countdown again.
I finally did an online chat with Google Support today and the tech had me walk through the steps again. The differences were he had me enter Recovery Mode by pressing down both volume buttons. He then had me wait about a minute before proceeding with the Factory Reset. After holding down both volume buttons past the countdown I let go as soon as the white screen went to black. The G logo came back up again, then it's brightness changed slightly, then it made some sounds and entered the Setup Screen.
I was able to connect it to the app and all is well. I've been trying all options listed in this forum over the past two days (including unplug/plug in 11x) and nothing has worked except for the two minor variations I mentioned above.

All of a sudden hundreds of google homes are stopping all at the same to be shipped to Hong Kong 🤔

I’m having the same issue

Nothing has worked. My hub must be broken.
03-05-2022 08:26 AM
From what I can tell - Google's software update has bricked lots of their Home Hubs. Why some and not others are curious for sure. I have three that I bought at exactly the same time, two of the three are fine, one is bricked.
03-05-2022 09:09 PM
I also have a Google hub that is not working properly with the gray screen with the g on it. I have unplugged over night, factory reset, unplugged and plugged back and nothing is working on it at all.
03-06-2022 03:36 PM
I have the same problem. I have
factory reset. followed back one more test per Google Trouble shooting but it won't leave the grey screen of white G.
Has mij device gave up the ghost?
03-06-2022 07:49 PM
My first gen hub is also having this issue. It's been about 3-4 months since it first happened and I've swapped out to another hub that is working fine. Are we just stuck with a brick now?
03-07-2022 02:09 AM
Yeah mine is buggered. Same problem.
03-07-2022 12:56 PM
Having the same issue, went through the reset steps, it appears to start the resetting process but when I let go of the volume buttons, the screen turns to a blank white screen.
03-08-2022 07:26 AM
I have tried all of the possible fixes that I have been able to find on here, and none of them work! Anyone else have a solution?
Thank you

Just had this issue a few days ago after a power outage it wouldn't restart, even after several "factory resets". Still can't get it up and running.

03-11-2022 10:40 AM
Having the same problem. Started overnight. Grey screen with white G. Tried resets but nothing
03-11-2022 07:40 PM
Mine has now the same problem, Grey G screen, unplugged for several hours, factory reset, nothing has helped, what now? We use these at home for my disabled son to be more independent. Life just gets a little better then * wham * back to our reality 😕. Please tell me this can be fixed, not hopeful after reading how often this is happening. Thanks in advance
